The Craft Barn’s Q&L Challenge no 12 – Proud and Vintage

The  Q & L challenge  no 11 is Proud  and/or Vintage. If you would like to know more about the challenge and would like to join in  here is the link to The Craft Barn’s Q&L Challenge blog

I think I must be having one of those months (again) where not a lot seems to be going right. I was really pleased with my tag and post for the last challenge  until it dawned on me (after one or two comments) that I had not mentioned anything about how I had made my tag, so I apologise for that omission, Though I think I was more concerned about the post being a reasonably  fitting tribute  to Maya Angelou.

Then I don’t know what I was doing  but, as  I had plucked up the courage a couple of weeks ago  (as had received my copy of “The Book”) to enter the CC3 challenge,I logged onto  Linda Legadbetter’sblog to see what page the challenge 4  technique was about. Made my entry, went back to link it and yes I had worked from the WRONG page and had to quickly make another one and amend my post, But apparently I was not the only one which made me feel a little better. And I did get to practice two techniques lol.

Anyway enough of that, lets have a look at the Q & L challenge number 12

The words this time are Proud and Vintage, It is definitely one of those months. I did  do some research to try and use the word vintage but all I could find were quotes about vintage wine and and some rather odd lyrics which I thought would be best left where I found them.

So Proud it is then, and I apologise now but  saw this quote and just had use it.

IMAG0957The quote is of course by Winnie the Pooh (aka AA Milne) and  I just loved it

It is  simply a distress inked a background  and decoupaged images  of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet I found (free downloads) on the internet. I have not done decoupage in ages and I think my scissors were a bit blunt but never mind I enjoyed doing this. It was a bit of fun. 🙂

  1. Sooo, cute Julie!! I should have this picture pinned next to the mirror I rarely use, lol
I loved your tribute to Maya Angelou, it was most fitting and the hows and wherefores were furthest from my mind.
Thank you for the lovely comment on my ‘Proud’ page and good luck with your new challenge too :O)

  2. Oh this is lovely! Gosh decoupage – haven’t done that in years 🙂 When I first started crafting, in particular card making all I did was iris folding, tea bag folding and decoupage until I was totally decoupaged out!! It is nice to revisit some of these techniques now and again though and I love this.

  3. I laughed at this quote. I laughed at Winnie. I loved what you made. Looks like your scissors were just fine, because those fussy cuts were perfect. BTW, did I mention how much I loved this tag????

  4. I love this quote and the images are perfect. It’ s nice to revisit old techniques and decoupage was perfect for this tag.

  5. Quite right to have fun with your choice of quote, better the finished compendium brings a smile to readers than sad thoughts! Very well illustrated too!

  6. Very cute tag and fab quote. Loved your last entry and checked out the links. I too entered CC3 for the first time after getting my copy of the book. Its all good so long as we are having fun. Thank you for your kind comments.
