The Craft Barn Q&L Challenge 22 – Moon and/or Sensation
The Q & L Challenge is a fortnightly challenge run by The Craft Barn. Each fortnight starting on a Sunday we are given 2 words and we have to use one or both of them in a Quote or Lyric which has to used on your artwork which can be anything from a journal page to cards, tags etc. for full details of the challenge and rules of entry etc here is the link to the Craft barns Q & L Challenge.
The words for Challenge 22 are Moon and Sensation, and although the lyrics to Moon shadow, by Cat Stevens and Fly me to the Moon and back by Savage Garden have been tempting me all week, I had spotted the quote by Albert Schweitzer, and with it also being Remembrance day I thought it would be more fitting.
All I have to do now is get it finished in time.
I have just swooshed the tag through inks to get the background colour, then with a round aperture for a stencil smeared on some modelling paste (£1.99 a tube from The Works) and patted it with a spatula to get the “moon” texture.
No patience, or time to wait for it to dry though so out with the heat gun. Once dry I wanted to make the moon more luminesque – perfect pearls, pearl and biscotti brushed on dry and around the outside a bit too.
Stamped on a poppy background along the bottom in black archival and punched out lots of tiny blossoms in red card to finish off my field of poppy’s
I was going to attach the tag with the quote onto my tag somehow but it didn’t look right so have written it around the moon instead.
This is my little tribute to all those who gave their lives so that we can live the lives we do, Thank you.
