Compendium of Curiosities 3 – Challenge 3

Yes! My Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities 3 has finally arrived and just in time for me to enter the 3rd challenge

When I read about this challenge on Hels Sheriden’s blog, it really sparked my interest. I have books 1 & 2, but had not heard about the challenges before. ( probably because I only joined the blog world in November lol), so this sounded like a good excuse to get number 3.

This is an amazing challenge. Each fortnight a technique from the book is randomly selected (apparently we will be working through all 34 techniques) and you have to make a piece of artwork using that technique. The main rule being that you cannot blog about how the technique is done. If you want to know how or take part yourself you will need to get your own copy. Here is the link to Linda Ledbetters blog and all the rules and information including  details  of  some great prizes up for grabs from Tim & Mario and from  challenge sponsors Inspiration Emporium and the The Funkie Junkie Boutique

I am  seriously going out of my comfort zone now, but I really want to give this a go and it is a great way to learn all the fabulous techniques Tim demonstrates in the book.

So here is my first entry for the “Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge  at CC3challenge.com.

Even though  I am a bit late in joining the party, I did not want to miss out on the first 2 techniques used in Challenges one  two  so was decided to incorporate them into this one too.

Challenge 1 – Paint marbling – used for my background

Challenge 2 – Distress glitter – used for my frame

Challenge 3 – Faux Tea Roses – used for my embellishments

And all layered onto an 8″x 8″ piece of corrugated cardboard to finish.
