Clarity Challenge 12 – Love and Romance

Well I managed to miss January’s Challenge completely.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is that some people  (even though they have had since last April) still bring their previous years accounts in a carrier bag in the middle of January and expect you to drop everything else and sort out their accounts for the year AND file their tax return BEFORE the end of the month. Still all done now for another year, just have to catch up with the rest of the work that I ‘d  dropped, lol.

I am not into Valentines day, being single an all, so I wasn’t really intending to submit anything for the February challenge and having a pile of work to get through…but, Sunday afternoon I had had enough of work and decided to have a play on the Gelli plate with acrylics and get some samples etc ready for next Saturday’s crafty afty.

I thought it might be interesting to just use white paint and black card. So I just brayered out the paint onto the Gelli plate and stamped into it with the rose stamp, oops it slipped, (I am sure Sam Crowe first mentioned about the slide technique on her blog) so I just kept stamping and sliding, loving the effect.

Then I remembered the heart stencil we received being in the NEW Design Club, so out that came. I  placed the stencil onto acetate , inked over with Versamark and  heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.

Stamped onto the white embossed hearts with black Archival ink using the rose and “All you need is love” stamps

Made up a flower, die cut some leaves (Tim Holtz) and although it was not what I  quite what I set out to do I seem to have made a card for the February Challenge.

Julie this is such a fabulous entry for the Clarity Challenge and what a brilliant idea to use white paint on the Gelli and then on to black card, almost a shame to cover up the background. Great stet by step Tutorial too.
    Good luck in the Challenge.

  3. Julie, I agree I thought the Gelli background with the rose had such depth and looked so effective. The card is lovely, good luck in the challenge.
